I went to the Pollock-Krasner house and the Elaine de Kooning studio with the intention of meeting them as if they were people.
No prior research.
With open senses, curiosity, and the hope for good conversations.

My journey began at the EdeK studio.
The Queen of all art studios without a doubt.  An unimaginable volume dressed in white walls and crowned by natural light.  The giant seashell window.
And the floor.  A hundread steps stained with paint splatters and pourings.  To confirm what I came here to do.  Make art.

And then, the PK house.
With its austere and imposing exterior, contrasting with the comfortable and humble interior.  Full of art, beautiful light and carefully curated objects
The house is Lee Krasner.

A little further, bordered by trees, the studio.  Where Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner painted.  It has the same feel as one of those sacred sites.  Just like when you visit a chrurch, and there are 2 or 3 people praying.  You stay silent, and surrender to the solemnity of the place.  I could not make one single painting of the interior of the studio.

2 weeks. 1187 photos. 101 paintings, and 22 drawings. And 2 facilitators.  Thank you Matt and Chris for your trust and generosity.  I am forever grateful.
